Spawned from my fun with rejetting, I'm curious what you all think about the Dynojet Thunderslide. I know many people advocate saving their money and just doing the jets and shimming the needle; I spent $9 for my own rejet "kit". So I completely understand the rationale behind saving the money you would be spending on a box of jets you won't use.
For those of you who like the jet kits..........What about the Thunderslide kit? Worth the extra $?
I don't know the answer to this but I have often pondered the same question. I was considering a Thunderslide but since I wasn't planning on going too radical with my engine mods and much of what I read about benefiting from a Thunderslide was related to having a Stage 2 upgrade, I decided to go with the basic Dynojet kit.
You can get very good results just rejetting without all the fancy things that are wasted in those kits. You need usually just a larger low jet to get it running right.
I just finished a Stage 1 on my 05 1200C with the TS kit. Works great.
BTW, the instructions with the kit were from '03, and said to set the needle clip on #4. It should be on #6, per new instructions from Dynojet website.
