hope he is ok. my wife had same thing happen to her, i was ridin behind her and saw the whole thing, we are so glad we decided to wear our lids that day, i saw her head hit pavement at least 6 times if not more. WAKE UP PEOPLE thats what leash laws are for
Wow. We never know when we leave the driveway what might be around the next bend. The experience of seeing your husband go down must have been horrible. Glad to hear he is looking forward to riding again. Karen and I will be thinking about you and we hope you will soon ride again together.
Did not have time this am when i posted on this matter but when my wife hit the dog, some a-hole chic stopped her car and all she cared about was the dog. dan you believe that. she also told me her husband was a rider. I was brought up a lot different then that, but it WAS the closest I ever came to smacking a women.
I'd find it hard to go for the throat with the owners of the dog; they have lost something that cant be replaced and is not freely available on ebay or HD. Ya cant kick a man while he is down, if that dude has kids, their night is probably not going too well for them all right now.
While thats all nice and all, look at it this way. If the owner really cared, cared about the dog and other people, the dog would not have been running freely. Why should the rider who went down because of this carelessness have to bear the brunt of all the aftermath and its carnage? Sure, don't kick a man when he's down, but that same man should be made to own up to his/her responsibilities of dog ownership. Pick up the poop and pay for all damages.
Absolutley the dog owner must pay. period ask nice first then sue them if they don't come clean. As far as cats go there is NO leash law on cats, and trapping them and taking them to the pound is just being a bad human. IMHO
