I'm sorry for your HUBBY.
Did you folks take any riding courses,I only ask because thats one of the things they go over.
Run over an animal or wreck?????????
Absolutley the dog owner must pay. period ask nice first then sue them if they don't come clean. As far as cats go there is NO leash law on cats, and trapping them and taking them to the pound is just being a bad human. IMHO
That would be in your community. There are leash laws for dogs AND cats here in NY. I think it's great. If your going to KEEP pets, then KEEP THEM don't let them run. God, I can just imagine the kids these idiots have.
18 months ago myself and my wife had been out riding our bikes . before we left we had argued about wearing helmets , I told her she wasnt riding unless she wore one . on our way home 3 blocks from our house an old woman blowed a stop sign and I t-boned the car. I flew over the car and landed on my helmet and shoulder and doing a flip-flop. my wife said it looked like everything happened in slow motion and scared her to death , but was relieved when I rolled up on my feet and pulled my helmet off and threw it at the car. unfortunately for me her sense of humor is as warped as mine , when she figured out I was ok she said if you think your gonna ride my bike now your crazy. I wasnt injured my safety gear done its job and we have no more arguments over wearing a helmet. any way im sure your husband will climb back in the saddle and be pretty cautious for a while but putting miles on will be the best therapy.
Well, we got the estimate on the bike today... OUCH, $7,500 just in PARTS. We'll see if the insurance company totals it. If they do, he's getting an Ultra.
I've gone over and over the whole scene in my head, and all I can say is WOW. Tomorrow I'm going on a long ride with our group. Hubby's not going to go. He's going to stay home and heal.
To whomever asked, Hubby has been riding since 1972 and yes, I did take the MSF course.
I've not heard from the dog owner yet. Sent a letter explaining the situation and asking for information on homeowners or some other insurance. I'm hopeing he will respond well. We'll see.
