I'm glad your husband is doing OK and plans to repair and ride again. I hope everything gets taken care of quickly and without a lawyer. Lawyers are the only one who make out when they get involved

Well, yesterday afternoon, I took MY scooter out for a short ride. More to prove to myself that I hadn't been scared so badly that I would give up riding.

He can't wait to get his bike fixed and get back out there. I'm hoping he heals fast.

Thanks again for all the well wishes.

Glad to hear you got back out there (I assume it went OK and you got over any nerves once you got on the road). Fingers crossed your hubby won't be long behind you.

Get back on that horse and ride! That's great news that you are both anxious to get back out there. Good thing yer hubby had his helmet on, there just simply isn't time to second guess your reaction in some situations and at that moment hitting the brakes perhaps wasn't the correct or right thing to do but I am sure he didn't have time to run all options through his mind. He did make one very good decission, heput onhis leather and a lid.

Star,
Glad to hear that your hubby is planning his next moves. The dog owner will make things right, as you have said. If not im sure you have someone on your side that will make sure he sees it the way the law is written.

Hope to hear of his plans to customize over the winter unless he is planing a return to stock. Take care and best wishes for a speedy recovery. DD

Sorry you guys had to go through this but glad all will heal. I had the same experience a few years back on my dyna while packing my wife. With smaller dog, no braking and a little luck we stayed up. Dog didn't make it. The owner's only comment was "bet he (dog) won't chase cars anymore."

The dog owner would definitely be getting a visit from the police once I filed a complaint. I doubt he didn't know his dog chased cars and bikes. But I don't really care if he or she did.

I would require them to cover the repairs on my bike at a minimum it's only fair. Dogs don't belong running into the street and out of the yard. The owner has complete liability and should use his/her home owners insurance to cover the cost. Or take out a loan if they have to. I work hard for my money to pay for my bike and would not take the hit just because their dog died.

The good news is that Hubby is getting around much better the last couple of days. Course a lot of that might be the pain meds he's on...

At any rate, he's anxious to get healed up and back on the bike. The shop is going to pick it up today (they are closed Sundays and Mondays) and get us an estimate on the repairs.

No word yet from the dog owner, however, I did some looking around on line and got all the pertinent information I need. So, we'll see where it goes from here.
