The first one I bought I put it in and went about a 100 miles and stopped for lunch. Then I noticed that there was oil all over the side of the bike. It was coming out of the top of the gauge. I didn't loose much oil but it doesn't take much to look like a lot. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced it. I've got about 1500 miles on the new one with no problems.
I had the dial type it worked great never broke. my dad (on a bagger) had the digital type and it cracked making it impossible to read. Said it was not worth getting another one.
