Has any one tried the 27 tooth front belt sprocket on a 1200 custome. Ours in a 2003 and comes stock with a 29 tooth front sprocket. It would slow down the top end some, but does it make it easier to take off in 1st gear for the wife.
it will probally help some, cause it changes the overall gear ratio, i did the opposite, went from a 27 to 30 to get more high gear. but i never rode 2 up with the sporty, just make sure you get one for the correct year of your ride, the had a habbit of changing shaft sizes. the v-twin catalogue has some for around 100 bucks good luck!
mine was an 883 , now a 1200, and i kept the stock 27 tooth pulley. i can still hit 120 but man is it quick on takeoff. the only downside is on a long ride with BTs, they are cruisin at 80-85 mph and my bike is revved the whole way. it does fine, but i'm thinkin a lot of wear on the motor.
Them B/T's and me would part ways real quick, I am not interested one bit in getting where I'm goin in a hurry when on my Sporty. The whole idea is the ride, is to me anyway, WTF is the hurry?
