I need your advice I was planning to take my 07 sporty in to get a set of short shots and aSE air cleaner fitted I originally asked dealer to remap the ecm he has now told me that the ecm on a 07 sporty cannot be remapped and I would need a fuelpak is this correct or is he trying to bump up the price of the job.
You feel anything pokeing you from behind? Actually, some sort of fuel management would do a better job and you'll be happier with the power increase. My suggestion would be a sert or pcIII, then a dyno tune to get it right on.
If you got that answer from the service department, and not the guy in sales or parts, then yeah you need to find another dealer....anyone in service should know better.
All that aside, forget mapping the ECM....simply plug in a PCIII USB (race version) from Jamie at fuelmotousa.com and do your own mappping whenever you want without disturbing the stock ECM......Even if you follow up with true dyno tune it works out cheaper and mo better.
Whoever you're talking to at the dealer doesn't know what he's talking about. The remap is a download that they do all the time for stage 1. And yes it can be done on an 07 Sportster. I recently had my local dealer do it for me.
ive got vance and hines short shots 225$shipped(also has o2s and flanges so no need to disassemble you stock pipes completely since it has the o2s installed you could use this on a 04-06 carbed bike also), a power commander usb III 225$obo(its programmed for the short shots and screamin eagle ac) and a sundowner for sale 230shipped obo (for a efi bike with the 3.3 gallon tank) my bike was totaled im laid up and havent worked since nov someone take this stuff off my hands oh yeah i also have a factory service manual for 07efi bike
