Default Newbie RoadKing owner question

Can someone explain the differences between a download, a SERT, and a PCIII??? I think I know most of the information but I am not sure. I bought a used bike recently and it has true duals and aftermarket pipes and intake mods but had not been "reflashed" with any but the factory load. Isa SERT just a flash download to configure the ECM? Or is there more to this?

Thanks,
Mike

I'll give ya the nickel tour
Download= dealer sending info via computer to bikes ECM to change engine and fuel operating parameters based on known modifications such as air cleaner, exhaust, etc. Most times downloads are done wthout Dyno time as they are developed based on very specific modifications. Example-Stage 1
PCIII = Power Commander PCIII-USB, open loop tuning system (doesnt use the bikes O2 sensors) that works in conjunction with the bikes ECM and uses "maps" based on engine mods, or can be programmed with a custom map developed while the bike is on a dyno. Dyno time required for best outcome.
SERT=Screaming Eagle Race Tuner which is a glorified download, but can be tuned by computer for more exacting performance, but still requires dyno time. Can get good results, but also very finicky, need a good person running the sysem and dyno.
Daytona Twin Tech with WEGO, also Thundermax Autotune= extremely programmable systems that use the bikes O2 sensors in a closed loop fashion to tune the air/fuel ratio, advance curves, etc based on immediate information fed to the ECM from the O2 sensors, does not use the stock ECM. These systems self tune while riding and also allow for finite tuning through software and uploads by the owner or installer to the ECM. No dyno time required.

Hope this helps

I put these in order of basic to advanced system and also in order of cost
