Default Throttle slow to return...

So I put on my new bar and grips (Kuryaken ISO), and the throttle doesn't snap back like the stock would. It isn't stiff, it just doesn't return very quickly. It also has a tiny bit of travel at the end where it doesn't close all the way, but if I twist the throttle closed, it will kind of click and close. It isn't binding at all, it just needs a little help. It isn't an adjustment issue, I tried that. The only thing I can think of is thatI didn't realize I was supposed to put some graphite in there until I read about it after doing the job. Would no lubrication be enough to cause this? I can see maybe the throttle being slow to return, but the way it gets caught on something right before fully closed makes me think maybe the throttle grip itself has a burr or something in there. I'm sure I put it together right... not that difficult... any ideas?

Check your poor man's cruise control **** under the throttle grip. You probably bumped it when installing.

I had the same problem when I installed the Kuryakyn grip ,wouldn't snap back. I took it back off and matched it up with stock throttle grip, Found the Kuryakyn to be slightly larger. I then put my stock grip back on functions fine. I sent the Kuryakyn set back......Ride Safe and Often.....BearC.Paw.......

It isn't that little throttle lock screw, checked that. Interesting about yours being a little bigger than stock bearc.paw. I wonder if I just hosed everything down with graphite powder if it'd fix it?

I ran into a similar problem with my bars. The chrome was a bit too thick. (Your powdercoat might be a bit too thick) I had to grind it a bit on the benchgrinder where the grip sits on the throttle side and I just used a little all purpose grease on the inside of the grip. (white lithium should work too) and the problem was solved.

It could be the thickness of the PC or if you have those plastic end plugs they may be a little too fat.

You're sure the cables are adjusted correctly? Ideally they should be adjusted the same amount. Did you check the throttle with the cables disconnected? That'll show you whether it's the throttle tube hanging up or the cable adjustment.

The instructions in my kurykan grips said to coat with graphite lubricant, before I hooked up my cables, I put the grip on without the lubricant just to see if it would make any difference and it did move better when I added the graphite.

Could be all that or....it could be that your cables are too tight. Try loosening them at your adjusters.

Just a thought, is the grip on the bars to far, and the end hitting inside the grip?

Yeah, I think so. I did slide the sucker all the way on before I tightened everything up. I'll get some graphite on the way home from work tomorrow morning and play with it. Probably a mix of both no lube and being on too far. Thanks for the help guys!
