Not pushing their product, but if you view the 'fix my hog' video you will understand the way all that stuff works, and may deduce the problem or remedy with that knowledge.
There is a switch for the brakes that you do not want to break,, or your' brake lights will stay on.
There's a return cable for the throttle that you will want to be adjusted correctly.
You don't want your grip/throttle handle all the way against the end of the handlebar, or it will bind and keep the thing from rolling all the way forward easily.
I don't know, but your fuel cable may be adjusted too tightly, not letting the throttle return to full off.
May be your cable futher away from the bars is kinked or putting tension on the cable and keeping the thing from returning all the way.
or....
I learned a helluva lot from the Fix My Hog video. Well worth the investment! I think if you go to their site and submit the question they may give you a reply.
Okay, I just went and loosened it all up, pulled it out a tiny bit, and now the throttle returns closed nice and quick. Not a record speed snap, but plenty quick. The click at the end is still there though, so the only way to bring it back to idle is to actually twist the throttle that way to get past the click. It's just a tiny notch at the end. If you goose the throttle, and let it return back, you'll basically end up with a 1000 rpm idle. It's not screaming or anything. It isn't the cables, I can actually feel and hear it in the grip itself. It sounds like it's coming from right where the cable ends hook into the grip. My guess is one of the ferrules is rubbing the housing or something. I'll play with it again if I have time this weekend, but I doubt it. I'm heading off to Vegas next week for a conference, gotta get ready still.
You need to adjust your throttle cables after installing new grips. Also, use Dri-Slide to lube the cables. I have ISO grips and mine snaps back quickly.
There's a little plastic or rubber shoe that the star 'cruise control' pushes against the throttle. See if it is seated in the correct position and not on top of the spot it is supposed to sit in, or sideways in there.
