Default Mirror question

I have a question about the stock mirrors on the 1200C. When I get the bike over sixty the vibration cause my mirrors to shake to the point where I can't make out what is behind me. I know someone is back there, but can't see much more than that. Is this normal? In my MSF class the instructor said that most stock mirrors suck and should be replaced. Just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were on this.

I went with wicked Image Flamed gothic mirrors and 1.25" diameter 32" length drag bars. I have no worries about mirror vibration, and I own a solid mount sporty.
Try putting weights in the ends of the bars (roll of coins work well and is actually cheaper than buying something to do the same thing) and some aftermarket mirrors with thicker stems and you should be ok.

I have a rigid mount sporty I fun flat mirrors instead of concaves, they still vibe but you can see better because the vibe is not as pronounced by the magnification of the concaves.

I never have that problem with mine (perhaps its a difference in the XL50 vice custom bars) I used to have a 03 rigid mount and those mirrors were unusable above 40 mph to me it's a miracle to be able to look in my mirrors at 70 and be able to see anything except blurs

My mirrors vibrate a little in 5th between 50-60 mph, smooth out nicely above that to about 75, start vibrating again somewhere past 80 and gets a little worse at 90. Still usable at 90, though. Haven't had the bike up much past that and besides, above those speeds I'm not really looking in my mirrors very much, as I'm concentrating on the road ahead.
