Perhaps you should re-check your calculations. A 1200 at 5475 is 122 mph
ORIGINAL: Stefan

The numbers are based off the 2002 sprockets and rpm limits of the 883 & 1200.

Top speed of an 883 based on gearing & RPM. 5th gear, 5987 rpm, 113 mph

Top speed of a 1200 based on gearing & RPM. 5th gear, 5475 rpm,111 mph

I had the Rear Wheel Sprocket (61t) value in the Clutch Sprocket (56t). I'm still not getting 122 mph tho. What are you using as the grear ratio in 5th gear?

The rear wheel sprocket is 68T on mine. Stock on 04up USA.

I would assume that Harley, like the cage makers, inflates the speedo by the permitted tolerance. So, if your speedo says 100, you're probably doing about 95. I've checked my cages (of various foreign and domestic makes) and they are remarkable consistent--5% high.

It's a great thing. You think you're getting better gas mileage, longer engine life, better performance..... all at the same time.

The FUZZ pulled me over last week just before I was about to break the sound barrier.
