I was looking at a new RKC with ABS and all that nice touring stuff. After going round and round with the stealer I couldn't get them to come clean with a decent deal so I looked around and found a 2005 with 5400 miles on it so I bought it. The good thing is the Sportster stays, 2 for 1 deal, can't believe that I pulled it off. Got a great deal on a nice bike.
The sporty gets the Sundowner taken off, sissy bar off, Weenie shield off etc etc. Thinking custom paint and a solo seat. Next year engine work.
I was serious when I said it was a chore. I just checked my records and saw that in the past 8 years, I have only ridden it 2900 miles. They wouldn't have been that high if I hadn't taken it to Daytona in 2002 and rode it around for the week. The 8 years before, though, I had ridden it on average of 5k miles a year.
I'm gonna have to farm out somebody to run a vehicle or two. I have a '90 Mustang 5.0 that I bought new. It's only got 40k miles on it. I basically quit driving it in about 1994. I changed the oil in it a couple of months ago. I had only driven it 280 miles since the last oil change......3 years and 8 months prior. It just sits covered up in the garage.
