My bike's set up for function more than anything. HD quick detach compactshort windshield, as has already been shown. If I'm not mistaken it's about 15-16 inches above the top of the headlight. The light smoke tint doesn't affect night riding at all. I like it because all I want is for the wind not to pound my upper torso. I pretty much get up to 70 mph on the highway daily, so it helps a lot for me. A 3/4 helmet with face shield also helps, especially when it's coolish to cold out. It prevents my eyes from watering andmy nose and ears don't freeze off! In warmer temps, the windshield helps enough so I don't need a face shield. I don't always wear a helmet, either.

Unless you're riding above 60 all the time and/or the wind is bothering you, get a little riding time in before selecting a windshield. That way you'll know exactly what you want it to do for you, and you'll get better used to the wind in the process. Riding shouldn't be uncomfortable, though. Some like the full force of the wind, and others don't like to feel like they're being "blown off the bike".

HD quick release and no problems from the wind. I leave it on through the winter months but as soon as it starts warming up again it'll come off and back in the box til next November.

I bought a Memphis Shades detachable windshield although I haven't tried it yet. Bike is still in storage until there's a break in the snow[:@]. I rode last season without one and decided I really prefer one when on long highway trips, but want the option of riding without one around town or slow winding country road rides. So I am hoping that will give me the best of both worlds. I love the looks of my Nighster without, but sometimes you have to do what will make riding the most comfortable and therefore most enjoyable.

I got the HD Super Sport quickrelease windshield. Works great until you get into some crosswinds. Then you get blown around quite a bit. Does wonders in the cold, like others have said.

I'm lazy and am not going to read all the posts, but it all depends on how you ride. Are you going on a long trips? Or you just scooting around town? Long trips you can get something larger- but when it's windy out, you will really feel a loss of control on the bike. I had a 1100 Yamaha Silverado, that had a full windshield...not all that good when it starts to get windy. I think you are best off with a little deflector- I've seen em on ebay for no more than $80s, and they are detachable. It's all in the syntax of your search... Look for cruiser wind deflector, or throw in detachable. There all out there- that would look best on your sporty (my oppinion).

Check this one out, I have this style and it is very easy to get on and off. There is no hardware left on the bike at all.

I have this same one on my '05 Roadster. Perfect for longer rides and off in seconds for jumps.

Love mine. I got a simple detachable, as I don't mind the hardware being left behind. Not that noticable. I have gotten so used to riding with it that I just leave it on 99.9% of the time.
