Default Choke cable replacement?

Ok so I removed the cowbell horn today and was relocating the choke **** to where the cowbell used to be. As I was tightening the nut on the back the plastic threaded area snapped. [:@]
Now I get to replace the whole shebang. Has anyone had to do this yet? How hard is it to do? Also are there any aftermarket ****/cable assemblies available that look better than the factory black one? I don't want just a cover since I need a whole assembly anyhow.
Thanks,
E.

J&P has the whole assembly for abouy 17 bucks, they're aftermarket and use a tube instead of just the cable shielding.

As far as replacing it....really easy.

Disconnect your fuel line and VOES line, pop the carb off the manifold, loose the nut that retains the choke assembly on the carb, slide it out, put the new one on (you'll see how it's attatched to the needle...when it comes out) and just work in reverse order.

Takes about 15 minutes if you got everything you need.

Thanks 6o66er,
I think I've been every part of that carb except for the choke cable area. After this I'll know the carb from top to bottom.

My plastic **** broke, and they had to replace the entire cable. It was a warranty thing, so I didn't do the work, but I watched. It was a fairly simple process.
