Default best year for a 1200 Sporty?

I have a question for ya sportster guru's... what is the best year for a Carbureted 1200C Sportster, not into the FI stuff....., I'm looking to buy a used one in the near future, and would like your help in determining what the best year is to look for.

Thank you for your input,

K.

The 2004 and after models have rubber mounted engines. Less shake and rattle.

Always a good thing, no?

I had a 98 1200......and to be honest...I didn't much care for it. My current reminds me more of my XLCR then it ever did. Kinda odd eh.

1968. But they're expensive when you can find one.

Anything after and including 2004 models because of the rubber mount. Alot of rigid mounted owners will argue that there isn't "that much difference" between the rigid mounted models and the rubber mounted models. It can be argued what the term "that much" means but it can't be argued that there is definetly a difference.
