im not a **** about keeping my bike clean, but about twice a month ill spend a few hours or the better part of a day cleaning as much crud off and everything as i can.
ive just noticed though that in the past 4 months, every, SINGLE, time i spent more than an hour cleaning the bike.....it either rained that same day or the next and ruined my efforts!!!!!!!! it gets annoying!!!! hahahah
its reallllyyyy hard to keep a white bike clean, and every time water gets on the pipes and air cleaner, they dry up and leave spots that take forever to remove. also mud sprays up all over my white paint and the engine. i just got a cool new AC too
this happened again today, i spent about 3 hours cleaning the bike this morning. mostly to get it ready for a photoshoot, i had a guy who wanted to use it in a cd cover he was shooting for this band. that didnt go through, canceled becuase of rain.
just needed to vent somewhere, not supposed to be like this in CA.
how fast do your bikes get dirty? and i understand why some of you get postal about keeping it clean, and washing religiously
im pissed myself, but ill let the bike wallow in filth for a few weeks before i take action, im just lazy hahah. just use tougher cleaners the longer i wait.
I clean and polish before I go for a ride and when I get back I do the same.
Then as it sits in the garage for most of the week it gets a tad dusty as I forget to put the cover
on so I do it all again.
It was sprinkling out on Friday afternoon... so I backed it out of the garage to wash it. The rain went away!
So I washed (thanks Mr. Clean) and waxed (thanks Maguires) and polished and warmed up the bike to get all the excess water off the engine and take it for a ride.
Then the clouds came back... and stayed all Saturday, too.
The cleaning is never done. Even on nice days if you do any amount of riding dust collects all over, and here in Wisconsin we kill lots of bugs in the summer, which can be a pain to get off the bike.
