I have bought this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...24289&rd=1 formy wifes 1997 883 huggersportster and it doesnt have any instuctions with it.i have taken off the clutch cover and i cant seem to make out how to fit it.
many thanks gaz
I haven't installed one but, when you say you removed the "clutch cover" do you mean the Derby cover (about 6" round )? To install this kit I believe you need to remove the Primary case cover as well. Do you have a Service Manual? It details the removal and reassembly of the clutch parts parts and the clutch ramp adjustment procedure.
hi thanks for the reply
yes i meant the derby cover i didnt realise i had to take off the primary case as well to fit the kit.i do have a worksop manual .
would still like install intructions if anyone has them.
In case you don't find a set of instructions, the parts you got in the kit are all similar to the existing parts that makeup your ball and ramp assembly. If you follow the procedure for removing/disassembling the ball & ramp, you can replace the similar old parts with the new parts in the kit and then just follow the reassembly and adjustment procedure in the manual.
I have a copy of the instruction I will post. My instructions are for 04 and up but are probably close to the same. I am not at home at this time I will post them about 2:00 pm central time.
I haven't installed the easy clutch, but I did get pretty familiar with the clutch. I don't think it will be neccessary to remove the primary cover for that install. Might be, cHarley is usually correct, but you can get to all of the clutch without removing the primary cover.
