Default Detachable Windshield installation

Anyone installed a detachable windshield on an '88 or later XL 1200 C? The directions outline the rerouting of the clutch, trottle and idle cables. Is this rerouting complicated or are the directions adequate for someone with reasonable mechanical ability? Is there anything tricky to watch out for. Thanks for the help.

Which windsheild are you trying to install?

I have installed this windsheild and although it stated to reroute the cables I did not and have had it on my ride since Nov without any problems.

DrPlastic, did you relocate your front turnsignals?

Not when I first installed the windshield.

It was not required. I did later as a personal preference.

You don't need to re-route anything. Just put it on. The instructions don't state it clearly, but thatapplies to '03 and earlier models. At least that's what the dealer told me when I questioned them about it.
