Anyone seen a Nightster with this sort of set up? I'm looking to get them in BLACK preferrably. I haven't seen BLACK offered anywhere and maybe someone else knows where those might be offered. Pics of the tach and speedo would be appreciated.
I've got a 2008 1200 Roadster. The tach and speedo are both black with the wrinkle finish like on the primary cover. Only chrome is the trim ring at the top. I believe you can buy a tach set-up from Harley that has the tach and the mount for holding the speedo as well.
There is a tach and speedo kit from harley. Tach Kit For SportsterÂŽ Models. I have one on a 2008 nightster. The tach comes with the dual gauge mounting bracket in black and the tach matches the stock speedo on the nightster/sportster models. You do have to have the dealer order a different handlebar clamp, though, because the stock nightster speedo/clamp assembly is one piece. If you want a black handlebar clamp, the stock handlbar clamp on a 1200 roadster I believe is what I got. It's a "dealer" item and not in their accessories catalog. I think it's about $20. I'll try to post a pic for you... in the meantime, if you want to see what it looks like, look at a2007 1200 roadster on the HD website. The only difference is thatthe mounting bracket that comes withthe tach kit does not have the chrome ring around the face of the tach/speedo. It's all black like the nightster speedo.
They also have a new 2 in 1 speedometer/tach for sportys in the new HD catalog--very nice, but spendy--almost $600. Speed on left of gauge, rpms on right. It's kind of bling thing I think[sm=bling.gif], but if the tax man is sweet, maybe...
It's the Tach Kit For SportsterÂŽ Models from Harley P/N 67182-07. You use your stock speedo and the kit comes with the tach and the dual mounting bracket. It's in their accessories catalog or you can look at it online on the HD website. You need to order the handlebar clamp, as I said in my prior post. It's the clamp that comes stock on a 1200 Roadster. I had the dealer order it. P/N 56115-95 - $20.
