I was wondering why minedoes this after I stut it down for short periods.

Come to think of it, I am not sure if it has ever done it hot. I am glad to see I am not the only one. I guess with all that compression and the pistons swole up in the cylinders good, it is just a little much on the factory starter.

cHarley, how hard was it to change the starter out?

It's no fun at all. You have to remove the primary case, clutch cable and shifter to get to the two bolts that hold the starter in. I also had to remove the rear exhaust pipe to make room to lift the starter out. I wasn't rushing but it took me a good 8 hrs to get the starter out, the starter clutch installed and then all of it put back together and adjusted up.

After all that labor and cost of the starter clutch, I figured the Twin Tec was well worth it to keep the clutch gear from being sheared again and got a performance ignition module that makes the SE Ignition look silly too boot.
