2008 Nightster, Spec stated 42 city / 57 highway. Before the first service, avg around 37~39mpg, doesn't matter how I ride it.I even wantedthe dealership to check on the bike to see what's wrong. Now, I'm getting close to 50mpg, same riding style. Total miles on it, about 1500 miles.
O.K. I will TRY to ride like a normal person this next tank of premiun to see if my mpg's go up. I was really wondering if something could be wrong with my bike. it runs good and sounds good, just sucks more fuel than most of you folks. guess I'll check my plugs and see what they look like.
When I got my bike I was getting right at 50. This is my first bike and now that I have put over 10K on it I get about 45 driving it 60miles a day, 50/50 hwy/city. I cruise around 70 to 80 on the hwy...
The last tank (first one after Forcewinder/Exhaust/SE wires/Yost carb kit and tuning of the carb) I have clocked 43 mpg combined city/backroads. That was BP ultimate with 10% corn fuel added thanks to the EPA. I normally run shell V-Power 93 from a neighboring county that still sells "real" gasoline.
Before the mods I was getting about 46-50 combined city hwy. 55-57 straight highway 1-up or 52 highway 2-up.
As a footnote: I tend to twist the throttle a bit more since the mods but that could also just be spring feaver...
Been getting 48mpg on average. Using Sheetz 93 octane . Suffer from the same problem with this bike as I did with the last 1 tho. Right-hand-twisting-throttle Syndrom . Brings a smile to Your face but cuts into MPG a little.............WVleo
Mid to low 40's when I'm ridin' it.
Upper 40's when I'm cruising it.
To be honest, it cost me about $11 bucks per fill up with the high test, so I stopped checking a while back.
Somehow I'm sure that it's better than my F-250 Super Cab 4x4 5.4L V-8 truck (5900+ pounds).
