Im in the market for a first bike. The bikes i'm looking at areranging from a cheap metric cruiser to a Nightster. That being said the cheap stuff is going for like $3k and is at least 8 years old. I have a buddy with a 2005 Sportster 1200 for sale with 3,000 miles that i can get for $5500. I guess my questions is....is that a good price for the bike or can i find similar deals somewhere else. I don't know what model sportster it is, i just know it's a 1200.
sounds like a decent deal to me, depending on the condition and the amount miles on it. I just checked retail price for a sportser 1200 Roadster and it was listed for $6870 on Kelly Blue book. Of course it all depends on condition, how it was cared for and how many miles...
I don't know any details (if it was ridden in the rain and such..) The bike supposedly is in mint condition. My buddy says it looks and ride like brand new. As far as i know the bike is completely stock. I do know he is the second owner. A guy had traded it in on a car at a local dealership. My buddy got a call from someone who worked at the dealership and told him he could have it for what they gave the guy for it. So he picked it up and it's been sitting in the garage for the past couple of months. Him or his dad wil ride it every now and then, but it'sonly a mile or two down the road and back. Here are some pictures maybe it will give you guys an idea of what the model is.
sound like a good deal, you may want to check and make sure it has the original title and not a salvage title.if it has the original title i would say go for it.
