I have a very small oil leak between the rocker cover and cylinder head, I'm assuming I have to have the gasket replaced. This causes about one drop of oil after a ride, it doesn't seem to be getting worse. My question is this: Is this leak a common problem and do people just kind of put up with it until it gets worse? Also could a novice mechanic (me), replace the gasket?
The lower rocker gasket will be fiber or metal.........The fiber gaskets are known for failing, and have been replaced by metal gaskets for the one that goes between the lower rocker and head. The upper rocker gaskets are rubber. All of which are pretty simple to replace, just make sure the sealing surfaces are cleaned up well before putting the new gasket on.

Yep....Just did this again lastnight. Piece of cake. Just follow the torque specs.
