I have a 2007 Sportster 1200C. I took it in last week for it's 1000 mile server and to get the Stage 1 kit installed. When I brought it home I noticed that the throttle now rolls forward a little bit from the return point. I hate to take the bike back up to the dealer. Was wondering if this was something that is adjustable?
Loosen your cables and re-adjust them. Sounds like they're just a bit out of whack. Do the pull cable first to get it about where you want it, then tighten up the idle. Make sure you have about 1/8" - 1/16" of free play and only adjust em til you can't hear the "click" when you're wiggling the grip.
I can't finger out what you mean by your description.......try again
Sorry...thought it might be a bit confusing...
So...when you want to accelerate you roll the throttle back towards you. When you release the throttle it rolls forward to the "idle position". From the idle position I can roll the throttle forward towards the front of the bike. I will roll about 2 to 3 inches forward and it remains running at idle during that time.

I have tried adjusting the forward cable with no results? Is this the cable you are referring to?
Can't be 2 or 3 inches...the grip would come almost full circle!?[>:]
I think you just need to re-adjust them.
EDIT : Adjust them both...completely loosen and re-tighten them. You shouldn't do just one or the other. Also make sure they're both seated completely in the carb bracket and inside the switch housing.
2or 3 inchesÂż The cable must be broke or disconnected.
The cable is not broke or disconnected. I have verified that this is the case. Throttle works fine with the exception of the forward roll. Heck, I took it for a 100 mile ride yesterday with no issues other then this.
