Default dies on decel

hey guys i got an 02 XL883C and after it warms up good, and i take it around for a ride, whenever i come to a stop or about 10mph and under on my decel, the bike dies and wont start up for a couple min, then it starts up fine and it happens all over again, could it be a head gasket that looses compression after it warms up? thanks

Not likely a head gasket. You'd hear a whoosh whoosh sound coming from the cylinder head area. I've been there and done that. Sounds like it's possibly electrical. Possible coil or ignition module heating up.
Does it do this everytime?

Check the resistance in the coil before you ride. When it warms up and dies check it again. I bet you need a coil, the heat is breaking it down and increasing resistance. If the resistance is higher when warm this is your problem. If not, it may be in the ignition module, but most likely the coil. If it restarted right away it may be fuel related, but since it has to sit to restart I am leaning towards electrical.

Check your wire connections at the battery. The same exact thing happened to me last year. Get down the road about 10 miles and then chug, chug, die. A few minutes later, it would fire right up, but do the same thing a few miles down the road....Turned out to be a loose neg. cable.
