Electronic single fire ignition issue
80 Strocker with single fire ignition starts when cold. After running and warming up motor won’t restart until sitting for about 1/2 hour. It backfires and pops but won’t start. Once cooled down she start right up and runs strong. I’m thinking heat is the cause. The nose cone is hot to the touch.

which single fire - the Dyna S induction that uses a 5 ohm coil or the genuine electronic set like Ultima or Crane Hi-4 (uses a 3 ohm coil)? If you use a 3 ohm coil with the Dyna S single fire you'll overheat the coil and it will crap out - your symptoms sound like an intake leak - at least - you are describing what is a common symptom of a leak at the band or O-ring seal in a shovel
