Here's afew of pics of the front and rear tires on the bike. Back tire still has almost a 1/4" clearance between the inside fender bolts and the tire. Damn I'm glad I went with the 160...
Not sure about pre 04 bikes.. I'd guess you can only move up one tire size on the rear...
+1
Your guess would be right. In fact I doubt even one size. Especially if you have lowered your bike. I am using Short Shocks and the fender strut bolt clearance is nill. I can barely get an open ended wrench in there.
I'll be going to a larger tire, probably a 160 also, next time I need a new rear. I've seen up to a 180 successfully installed with the stock swingarm and fender. One of them went with a chain conversion and the other with an 08 Fat Boy pulley and an 06 Softail belt. Both look really good but with very little room for adjustment.
Let us know what you think of the ride after a few laps, they sure do look nice and from what I have seen as far as price well I just might have to try them out myself.

Your upgrades are looking good.
I would very much like to see a 180 on a sporty I doubt it will fit. but what do I know.
Here's an update: I have almost 1000 mikes of my Kenda Kruz's and no sign of wear. I also (verrrrry cautiously) have been trying to see how far/fast I can lean the bike over with them. So far, so good. Better than the Dunlops.
I used to have a Honda SL350 that I was "streetifying" by lowering it, putting on chrome pipes, and street tires. I had a set of the ChengShin Marquis tires on it. Much better than the Dry-rotted enduro tires on it.... but what does that say!?!?!
Also, a friend bought a Maxxis rear tire, which is made by ChengShen about the same time I bought mine. So far, his is doing okay too.
