Default PC III installed and working

Installed it Friday night on the 2008 Nighster.

It is TIGHT under the seat.

i ended up cutting off some of the black plastic cable protector / sleeve on the wiring harness and shoving it forward towards the tank
to make room for the bike connector and the PCIII connector.

the first install did not work something was loose.

took it apart again reconnected and left seat off and it worked.

put seat on and it worked again.

its so tight that you have to gently "force" the seat down on the seat retainer pin deal.

the check engine light stayed on after i was done.

i called tech support they told me to disconnect and reconnect

i did that and now what happens is this on a start up sequence

turn key
put to run
yellow light goes out
start it up
yellow light comes on for 10 seconds then goes out
then ride away

it back fires way less now than it did before

throttle response seems more snappy

should it back fire at all?

also i still get the "make the sucking noise" kind of like a hickup and stall if the bike is cold and i just let it idle.

if the bike is warmed up it does not do that at all

dont know if it takes time or what for the bike to get used to the new map. it would seem to me that it should not.

plan on seeing how it goes over the next few weeks then taking it in for a dyno tune at a shop that specializes in PCIII in my area.

please give me your thoughts and experiences if you could.
