My wife just got a 1200C to bust around on and the reach is too great for her. She had a Streetglide but got tired of moving it around. She is small. Wondering if anyone had found a more comfortable handlebar for the 1200C.
Just about any bar will fit a sportster, provided it fits a harley. Take her to the dealer and have her sit on some other bikes and see what feels good to her.
It's an 05 bike. I was looking for an after market bar that I can run the wiring in. She had a set of Flanders bard on her other bike. There are just so many different bars out there and I only want to change them once.
Well, I did have to take the bike back to have them tighten them up a second time.
The first time I took it out for a ride, the bars slid down a little bit.
What they did was to add a few more 'grooves' in the bar to help the clamps grab on better.
So far it feels good. But, If this doesn't work, the dealer will add another tightening bolt through the bar.
My wife have a XL1200c 2007and have the same problem.
I went to my dealer and shesit onDyna low rider FXDL just to see the feeling of the byke.
She's perfect.
So I buy the handle bar 56085-83T (FXDL direct replacement)from my dealer. You don't have to change any cable. The only thing is, the brake line is little bit to tight, so just off set the handle bar to the left and it' s ok.
Also I buy a close seat and a pair of low shock Progressive 412 11 inch.
After that the byke is tuned for her
