Default a good one

i hate tyo bring up the subject but here we go(and this is the way it should always be handled) i went for a ride yester day with my cousin and my uncle,we were meeting a few guys that are in a local bike gang..so we pull up to the meeting spot and one of the guys commented on my uncles new softail heritage(he just got it,sold his 02 sportster) the guy tells him its about time he got rid of the sportster and got himself a real bike..i replied with"a real bike hah" (he didnt even notice that i was on a sportster) then he goes on to say that sportster are only good for beginners,i reply back to him with"really im not a beginner and i love my sportster and really have no desire to have anything but a sportster right now" he comes back with "thats the bike that everyone learns on and that is all they are good for" i said "thats funny i didnt learn on a sportster and one other thing they are good for is beating big twins in races, and asked him if he wated to keep running his mouth or run his big twin against my bike" he didnt have a comeback for that one,i also asked for a show of hands how many of the guys actually have a title for their bike, only myself and one other guy with an older softail had bikes that they actually owned, and then a few minutes later he approached my bike and told me it was beautiful and i must have alot of money wrapped up in it...they tried to get me to join the gang and i told them i dont need a gang...the worst part of the whole thing..when you dont have a harley you get your ***** busted then you get a sportster(which is a great harley) you still get your ***** busted..i dont get it

Went on a poker run for "pancake"(old timer indy here in Augusta)last weekend and I got nothing but compliments on my bike by all the other riders (most Harley big twins), but for every 100 good guys theres at least one *******... I just sniker at them when I cross one and make sure he eats dust at the light[sm=badbadbad.gif] next time ask if he thinks he can ride it then switch bikes with him and ride a wheely on his bagger. That will shut him up

Interesting 'chain of event' involving the members of the MC (I call them Clubs, not Gangs), as something like that would never have taken place with patched members of any Tradition MC I've ever been involved with.

Patched members of most traditional MC's are very reserved when it comes to dealings with strangers and non-members, and would never get involved in a verbal battle. Also, if a stranger asked one of them if they were going to keep 'running their mouth' that would be more than enough to go from a verbal to physical battle, without a doubt.

Becoming a member of a traditionalMCis a very long drawn out process that could take years. Never heard of a member walking up to someone andjust askthem if they wanted to join "the gang' (or club).

Normally the person hangs around for a period of time, attending open events with various club members, and if the chapter membership in general gets along with the individual the person isasked if they want to be a club prospect.Being a club prospect is very demanding, and very few make it to the point where they have proven themself and earned the respectof the full chapter membership and are voted in as a full patched member.

I don't doubt what you are saying, but I've just never heard of anything like that happening.

Strange world these days, so nothing really surprises me anymore.
