I'm new to the Harley World so if I ask dumb questions, please bear with me.
My question this time is if a larger capacity fuel tank is available for the Sportster, that would be a basic swap out. I have no desire to get into any kind of a custom situation. I'm getting too old for that. This filling up every 100 miles or so is really a nuisance.
I hear ya but I did find a way around it............buy a touring bike[\\] for your 03 sporty you could always get a fat bob kit outa jp cycles and I believe they are bolt up kits but you will need to paint it of course.
I agree with you Bradley. I've got a 2.25 gal. peanut tank, and I'm looking for a break at around 100 miles any way, so a bigger tank really isn't going to do me much good. Plus I really like the way the small tank looks on the bike!

I'm going both ways with this thread I would like a bigger tank and at the same time 100 miles and I need a break. I confuse myself sometimes
I have the 4.5 gal tank on my 06 Custom, I've ran it up to 172 miles and still didn't hit reserve, but it must have been close. I think it has a 1 gal reserve. I would think this tank would fit any 04 and up Sportster but would need a seat for that size of tank...
I like the 100 mile limit as it gives me a good excuse to get off the bike for a little bit. \\; In the summer, you need to rehydrate by then anyway. \\;
