Air Cleaner inlet
Hi All! I just pulled the air cleaner assembly from my 06 883, and removed the plug that conceals the "slow" needle. While I had the cleaner off, I noticed that there is an insert that has 883 stamped on it. It will pop out of the opening, providing a larger inlet for air!
I also was able to remove the carb needle plug without removing the carb, by using my dremel tool, that has a flex shaft, and drill chuck on the end. With the cleaner assembly out of the way, you can carefully drill a small hole in the plug. Screw in a sheet metal screw, and pop that baby out. My engine was sooooo lean, that with only 160 miles, it has already turned the pipes blue. And I had the occasional poot out the carb, when taking off. I backed the needle out 1/2 turn, and all is well! Cheap fix.

OP: I wish i had seen what the orignal A/C looked like, but mine was switched out when i got it.
