Have you heard of trying to squeeze a square peg in a round hole?
Yell "HULK SMASH"!!! real loud and maybe you'll get the cover on there...
Be sure to post pics when you're done though!

The dealer here in greenville, sc will sell me a Big Sucker with K/N filter for 120 and the stock cover will fit
