Default speedometer eyebrow

I installed a decorative ring on my speedo on my 2005 1200C. The problem is that the eyebrow on the top blocks part of my speedo. It is attached with the adhesive that you pull the paper off and press down on. How do I get this damn thing off without leaving a residue??? Speak oh gurus of the forum.[:@]

Goo Gone (found everywhere it seems, nowadays) or WD-40 works great at removing that 3M adhesive...

be careful not to let it get near any plastic! acetone will dissolve that too...

Me too. Might work on tank-mounted guages, but not quite right for Sporster; what was Harley thinking. It looks great, but I may end up taking it off.

BTW I had the same problem and found if I mounted it completely upside down it still looks good and works even better!

Glad I read this thread! I was thinking about picking up that trim ring. Thanks for the heads up.
