Question Installing rack on Nightster

Okay, I know this is a stupid question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway. I just picked up a Motherwell solo luggage rack for my Nightster. Is it necessary to remove the rear wheel to install it? In other words, is there a nut on the underside of the fender or can I just screw in the included hardware?

You should not have to remove the rear wheel unless your hands are very large.

jack the bike up and remove the top suspension bolt and lift the fender to get at it.

fender lies so low you will just fight it most of the way

This is how I do it.
1- find the chick in the bar with the best rack.
2- buy her some drinks.
3- ask her if she wants to go for a ride on your harley.
4- install rack on your bike.
5- enjoy!

I'm not sure how the Motherwell installs (so this might be a useless post), but I installed the HD solo rack hardware without removing the fender or wheel. You can get a wrench in there to hold the nut on the inside with one finger [for the forward hardware; the rear hardware nut doesn't require a wrench] ... but like the other guy said it might be a little tougher if you have fat fingers!

I like installing this rack way better than the HD solo rack.
