The one screw works great for me. No vibrating or anything.

You unscrew the back plate and the push button. Take the back plate off and push the speedo out of the front of the housing. You will have to unplug the wires. There will be a set for the speedo and one for the dumby lights. I had to cut the sleeve that goes around the 2 sets of wires so that I could seperate the speedo wires from the dumby light wires.
It's pretty easy really. And, it looks really cool when it's done.

Is there a way to do this on a 93 sportster? It is not digital so it has a spedo cable.

does anyone know the part number (or size) of the torx bit that is on the coil bracket of the nightster? as i said before, my 883r doesn't have any screws protruding from that bracket. Or should i just drill a hole in the bracket and use the screw that came with the autometer gauge pod? Or maybe a bolt and nut?

You can find one of my favorite relocation methods here : http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/s...d.php?t=180906 Unfortunately you have they might make you register to view. They will let you browse for a while and then it tells you that you have to register. You might not be able to view the pics without registering. I frequent both forums so I have an id but I know some people here dispise that site LOL.

I would also like to ask a question about this. I am considering the above posted mounting method I posted. But I have already bought fishboy's upper clamp so I plan on putting the dummy lights up there. I don't know what the stock clamp mounted to the bottom of the tank would look like without the dummy lights.

The method posted above by fishboy uses autometer 3209 which can be found here http://www.autometer.com/cat_accesso...il.aspx?vid=91

3209 says it has a 3 3/8 diameter where the strap mounts. If its 3 3/8 and that fits then I am curious if autometer 5204 would also work since its 3 3/8 and its already black. You can find it here http://www.autometer.com/cat_mountsd...=49&mid=9&pg=0

It might be too deep but its already black would give me a better feeling about there being a backing to the mounting solution. Opinions?
