So i took my nightster in for the 5000 mile service yesterday morning. I've noticed some oil leaking lately so i had them check that out. they called last night and told me that they have the entire motor torn apart because the oil leak seems to be coming from one of the cylinders, not the rocker box gasket like i thought. Supposed to be able to pick it up tomorrow. I'm going crazy without the bike. I hate driving my vehicle in LA traffic. I'm glad it's under warranty so it won't cost me anything for the repair. Just sucks that an 08 has to be rebuilt like that within the first 5k.
Ok, it's now been over a week without the bike. I'm going crazy. They are waiting on the Gray wrinkle paint from harley that was shipped last week. they had to rebuild the top end since the lower rocker box gaskets were leaking, which got oil all over the motor. they are repainting it which is good but man, i just want to ride. I have new z-bars and forward controls i am itching to put on the bike. Stealer has been great throughout the whole process but now i'm going nuts without the bike. And i had forgotten how much i absolutely hate driving in LA traffic. /rant.

It's at Glendale Harley. I would love to do all my own work but living in an apartment where they frown on washing cars in the parking lot i'm leery of tearing down the top end. would love to ride, usually do angeles crest or up to Neptune's on the weekend. Will pm to get more info.

yea same here, landlord makes me park all my bikes in the street, she doesnt like oil on the driveway, even though all the other cars that park here leak, some more than mine.
i work out of a nice garage in alhambra, got everything needed to do ANY kind of work on any vehicle. we just acquired a crane to lift engines out of cars too. were doing an engine overhaul on a 1985 VMAX, way more complicated than a sportster.
if you know anyone with a metric bike that needs cheap work refer them to me, ill give my contact info in a PM. word of mouth is our only advertisement haha
I know what you mean. The other day was the first day I have driven my car in about a
month and a half. I've put over a 125,000 miles on my Mustang GT that I bought new in '97 and yet it felt so wierd driving on the interstate the other day. I was like, wow that right mirror sure seems far away when ever I'd do a lane change.
I drove the car again today, because they were calling for a crap load of rain, which did not come during the day. They are expecting more rain tomorrow.
