I'm thinking about getting a "Mirror Chrome Solid Disc Wheel" (PN: 41268-03) for my bike (Rear Wheel Only). It will replace the 16" stock rear wheel and costs $999.99. Has anyone done this?

I like those wheels but I automatically associate them to the Fatboy. Im not sure how good they would look on a Sporty. Perhaps your imagination is better than mine. I will say though, I really love the way the 21" wheels look on the Sporty's especially the spokes. I have heard about the the cross wind problems mentioned in the last post, but I belive its a more of a myth. You should find out though if they will affect the ride and handling of the bike...Good luck.
blackbird, i think id check out some aftermarket wheels. usually the chrome is much better than harley chrome. also there are several bikes that will interchange with the sporty like the touring bikes eglide rking ect, and the fatboy, check out ebay, bought both wheels on my glide 18" chrome for 999.
good luck and i think it will look great.........!
The FatBoy rear wheel will fit Sportsters. Just turn it around as the brake disc and belt sprocket are reversed on all Big Twins. The size of the rear wheels are the same.
As for the front wheel, they won't interchange. You'd have to do some major customizing to get that to work.
I've not noticed any difference from wind since I changed the wheel over the laced wheel that was on it.
i've got a solid wheel on my bike....it's a reall nice upgrade and looks awsome......i've got a chrome swingarm, wheel, and just about everything else chrome on the back also....looks awsome...go for it
