Default Front end "shake"

Yesterday, when I was merging to the Interstate under fairly hard acceleration, shifted into third @ about 55, and when I snapped into the throttle, the handlebars gave this little shake back and forth for about a second or so, then stabilized. I'd guestimate that they went through about 5 back and forths before stopping.

Never done it before.

Any ideas on what might cause this?

i've seen it before a few times, even experienced it. speed wobbles or depending on how hard it is - tank slap. i heard of a way to fix it but totally forgot since it only happened once to me ever. Maybe ease off the throttle for a second?

Odd. Sounds like something with the steering head bearings or maybe the front wheel needs balanced.

If you're gripping too hard, it could do this. Relax your grip a little.

I'm betting it was from the road and not the bike.

There are a few on ramps in my area that cause this phenomenon just by the variations in surface of the pavement.

Strering head bearings,Wheel bearings, Wheel balance, That's where I'd look first! Been beating the snot out of my 07 for 13,000+ and never had even the slightest of head shake!

Something is going on!
