Maintenance Info Needed
For starters a service manual is on order...
I've had my 99 Sporty for about 8months now and want to do some maintenance. What is recommended as far as the following?
Plugs? Besides the HD and Autolite brands, is there an NGK model?
Oil?
Gear (primary) oil?
Someone told me Formula Plus 50 or 60w was the way to go.
Should/Could I use synthetic?
Air Filter. I have a K&N so I assume it takes the same treatment as the
car K&N filters. (wash and treat)
Any other tips would be appreciated. I've read my the manuals to my other bike
cover to cover so trust that I'll do the same for the HD manual when I get it.

Plugs: Might as well stick with stock plugs unless you go and upgrade the ignition coil and wires because you will not be getting any hotter spark unless you do. Anyway, I'm using Accel plugs, but I've had a lot of motor work done.
Motor oil: Any dino/synthetic 20W50 in the summer height, possibly even a 60 weight for the desert/hot climates.
Primary: I pretty sure it's 75W90 gear lube, but I have a brain cramp right now from this incredibly boring meeting I just got out of.
Air Filter: Yes, if it's a K&N, just wash, dry, oil, & put back on/in.
Other tips: Lube your cables. Check tire wear & air pressure. Etc. Normal maintenance items.
