Default ever go back...?

Today I had these pipes put on my bike...Vance & Hines Straightshots HS Slip-Ons ( with the quiet baffles )

this is what they look like.. http://cwedge.smugmug.com/gallery/80...887_GjSUy-O-LB

Wow! what a difference over the stock sound. Good to hear... I really like it.

Those of you who have louder ( than stock ) pipes.. Would you agree with the following statement?

Once you go loud..you never go back.

Did you remap or do the air cleaner thing? These are the ones I would like to get, and no, never went from louder to quieter.

my bike is an '05 ..so it's carbed. Just the slip-ons...nothing else done.

after just one day riding...I haven't noticed any problems..( no 'poping' or other performance issues.)

Just great sound...and nice chrome..they look good.

so you wouldn't go back to stock sound eh? I don't think I would either..I'll get hooked on this sound.

I read somehere on this forum that the quiet baffles gave it a lower / deeper sound so I went with that. I can't compare the sound to the orig. baffles because I didn't hear them.. but I am pleased with the sound I've got now.

i have stock pipes and am almost sure i'm doing the vh straight shots on my 07 custom. i have thought about doing the q series, just because i'm told you can get the full system for an 07 whereas the reg baffled ones only come in slipons. i've heard the regular and lust over them regularly. i havent heard the q's, but i have been told that they have a very deep throaty sound. def like the looks better than the stock pipes too. i cant think of a reason not to have loud pipes.

i'm also told that if you do pipes only, the remap is not needed. it is however, if you do the airflow. obviously doing all three is wise for a performace upgrade and i'm told all three will gain you about 10% hp increase.
