I checked the archives, but not much there. I am changing to mini apes Friday, and want to get rid of the stock riser. Any good ideas on how to keep the stock instruments? Any kind of riser adapter??

check this thread. it might help you a lil. its a different bike but here ya go.

 

If you loose the riser. the guages will hit the tank, unless you get the guages from any other sportster, they mount on the front of the risers, not the rear like the custom does.

Can you give us a closeup of where the clamp mounts to the bike. I've seen a lot of people do this, but not seen how it actually mounts to the bike.

btw, the paint on your tank is badass. Is that stock?

 

I'll take some close up pics tomorrow in the sunlight, I used half of the old coil mount (coil is relocated to where the horn was) and mounted that bracket that I got from Summit.

 

I drilled out the hole in the bracket and mounted it to the front tank mounting bolt.
