Having gone down recently myself he has my sympathy. The soreness and bruising will get worse before it gets better but better the chaps and jacket be toast than your husband.

I was going to wear shorts and a tshirt the day I went down but instead wore an armoured jacket and kevlar lined jeans which means I am now fully recovered.

A reminder of how vulnerable we are riding.
Best to your hubby

The good news is he was able to walk away from it! As others have said bikes and parts can be replaced.

Sorry to hear about this.
One thing that bothers me when I'm riding with Mama is seeing her go down, or her watching me. We talk about it all the time, and hope we never have to go through it.

Everything will turn out for you and your ol man.

man glad to hear he walked away... sucks to go down but we all do it eventually... glad he is not too banged up... it is always the day after you realize how hard you actually hit the ground... my buddies give me hell for riding in gloves all the time... i just laugh and say, wait till you slide your hands across the pavement at 25mph... bet you will rock the gloves too!
