Default rear running lights...

I bought the kit to turn my turn signals into brake lights. Is it possible to add another set of turn signals as running lights (enough voltage)? I know they have another kit to do this but I have the extra lights in hand. Will the lenses have to be red or amber for running lights?
EXTRA: Buddy of mine was T-boned on his way to work yesterday..the person stopped for the stop sign then pull out as he was passing. No cars were coming in the oncoming lane are he would have been ran over since that was where he landed. He has a broken knee cap and torn a section out of his foot. He said his helmet busted up but not his head.
Thanks guys..
Ride safe
Tim

You have plenty of current available for additional rear running lights.

You shouldn't have boughten the HD kit theirs sucks compared to the kuryakyn kit (it's
the only thing kuryakyn makes that doesn't suck though). With the Kur ... (**** it I
can't spell that) kit they turn your existing turning signals into running lights and brake
lights.

Yep right to the tail light.

Or if you break into the under fender harness use black for ground and
either blue or orange for hot. Blue is running light on US models and orange
is unused... orange is the running light on international models and blue is
unused. Might be nicer (safer) to tap into the orange.... because the
orange is on the ACC fuse while the blue is on the LIGHt fuse. That way if a
fuse ever blew, you would still have lights in the back from the other fuse.

I have this on my bike.It just plugs in under the seat.http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

I also have the brake lights that are in the posts that hold the turn signals to the fender.I can't seem to find them on Harley's site though.Maybe they stopped making them. But all in all I have 5 lights on the back and they are all on all the time and they are also all brake lights as well.I only use the stock battery and they work great

The HD kit changed to about two years ago. Take a look at that part
number that Booey gave you, it has a "-06" at the end. If you're getting an
old stock part and it will not give you the running lights. Seems odd that
they would still have these on the shelves, but I've heard of other people
getting the old ones occasionally also. Another nice thing about the
Kuryakyn one is that they have a jumper selectable back off flash for
braking (if you're into that).

It's been a while since I've paid attention to these at any rate... getting
too used to my '69 that doesn't need turn signals even in NY, and my evo
sportys all have home grown harnesses, so I better stop giving old info on
these new fangled parts

That's the same as my HD kit. I read where the Kur... kit also makes the rake lights 'pulse' when first applied. That is a nice feature IMO.
