Default Andrews n2 cams

I have a 06 883. Anybody out there running them? My heads are stock and I want a little more low and mid range power. What kind of difference did it make?

I have them but if you dont flow the heads I dont know how much it will help. I have domed pistons and triple ground hi flow heads theres only 1/16 of an inch between the heads and the pistons. its around 12-1 compression. the heads can be done at a machineshop for around
250 if you are just gonna flow them...

I wouldn't waste my money and effort on that set of cams. You should save your money towards a 1200 conversion and some head work. That would be money more well spent.

Yes, what he said.

Cams sound like a sexy thing to do but the simple switch of jugs, pistons and then heads will yield much more. Then a cams or along with the cams. You are talking huge gains with the whole pack.

I heard the 04+ sporties already have pretty good flow on the heads, so it would only make sense that a simple bolt on set of cams be beneficial.

Lets face it, were not going to race Hayabusas, but we would not mind a few extra ponies.

So I have heard some good things about the Andrew N2 cams and also the SE "E" grind cams, any other good bolt on cams for the sporties with out alot of head work?

Thanks in advance.

Let's try to keep this forum positive folks, yes give your honest opinion in a helpful manner.

Constructive criticism, that's what what were are seeking here I guess.

Simple as that.

They all pretty much nailed it, once it's a 1200, 1212 or 1250 with head work. Then cam it accordingly.

Doing cams fist is never a good idea. If you do almost anything else to your motor you'll end up having to change the cams again. Cams are best left as a compliment to any motor or head work you decide to do.

I have that set up, and the gains are monumental, an F'in MoNSTER.

The '04 + heads are actually the pre '04 buell heads. They flow pretty good already but can be made to do better. If it was my $$$$, I'd do the 1200 kit with 1200 heads and do the cams, more bang for the buck.
