Must be those harsh winters. Your signature says Florida?

Thumbs up Key

I have an 2006 1200l and the battery is like new. I firmly believe if you leave the key in the ignition that there is always power going thru the system. I always take the key out of the ignition and have had no problems.

Huh? Sorry, but the key in the ignition switch does nothing unless you turn it to the ON or ACC position. Check the wiring diagrams in the Service Manual.

Since it gets rather chilly around here at times, I try to buy the biggest battery I can for all of my vehicles. That doesn't mean physical size but rather Cold Cranking AMPS. THe more CCA a battery has, the more it will deliver when the weather does get cold. The bikes get the battery tenders year round, since I may not get a chance to ride everyday and batteries do slowly loose their charge, the older the battery the more apt it is to happen. Which reminds me, I need to get the battery out of the boat, don't think I will be uasing it anytime soon
