Anyone elses battery die everytime the temp drops! never fails if the temp drops below about 32 my battery dies and half to jump her off! and yes its in my garage! prb need a new battery? if so what batterys do you all run!
mines a 05 but the guy i bought it from i believe didnt ride it much well i know he didnt it had 1200miles on it when i bought it in may! so you think its a dead cell!
Mine is an 05 also but since the salesman at the place I brought it keep turning the switch too acc they killed the battery so they put in a new one. But cool weather don't kill batteries its the heat and improper care. I would store it away for the winter and when spring come but in a new one.
I've had the same problem. When it gets cold, the battery seems to lose power. Get into the mid 20's, it won't crank it over enough to start the bike. My bike is an '04, and I assume it is the original battery since I have had the bike for 2 1/2 years. If I ride for about 30 minutes or more, it seems ok. I've been told and have heard it takes about 30 miles before the battery actually starts charging, which leads me to think it is getting weak. I will probably have it tested next spring. I can't afford one till then and can't afford to be stranded at work.
I have a 08 Nightster and an 02 XLH and the 02 still has the original battery and has never been on a tender. The Nightster battery went low after sitting for a week or so, Battery tender needed for EFI bikes especially ones with security systems.
And remember, a dead battery will freeze and could crack the case. I wouldn't want to have to deal with the results of that happening.
Mine (04) still has the original battery in it. Gonna replace it in the spring.
It does crank a bit slower in the cold, but the bike will start.
I'd just get a new battery if I were you.

Who ever told you that is wrong. The moment the alternator voltage output is above the voltage of the battery it is charging. This happens moments after you start your bike!
