Cool Put my XR1200 deposit down...

Hey guys, guess I'll be hanging around here now too. Just went to my local dealer today and put a deposit down on an XR1200. Been waiting to get my hands on one of these for some time - guess I need to wait just a little bit longer though. Salesman tells me late January, early February - shoot, that's just around the corner

I was a little surprised to hear, from my salesman, that I was the first customer (at that particular dealership) to put a deposit down on one. No doubt the timing is bad, but I really hope these bike work out for the MoCo - guess we'll see soon enough.

Anyway, just thought I'd drop in and share.

Cheers,
-Jack

removed. guess the salesman lied to get me to come in more, check your PMs

well he didnt lie when he told you you were the first. I asked if there were any deposits and he said none but they were ordering them anyway. i guess he just lied about how soon they were coming in.

also update your location info for your profile. I live in baldwin park a block away from the dealer behind the walmart. on vineland ave.

i just read your motorcycle diaries thing in your signature.

you know how ever much your spending to have it built at the shop you can spend half as much and ill take care of you at my shop in alhambra! we do painting and engine rebuilding in house. the only things we send it is to get parts chromed and wheels to get re laced and tires fitted. pm me for details lets see if there is something i can do for your bike like a bad *** cafe racer paintjob hahahaha

Congrats and welcome to the club.

I know I'm preaching to the choir when I say it's going to be a loooooooooooooong wait until late January.

Jack, just curious, but what number are you out of the 750? I am 170. A couple guys on other forums were 149 and 198. Im curious because of the delivery date. TowJam, I had my sales manager double check the delivery date because of news I got from another guy I was talking to. He said 9th of Dec. Im curious to see if this actually happens. If so, then it will be a very merry christmas indeed...

The first 750 are orange, no security and no add-ons. Price is set at 11,079.

Hi guys
I have been planning on getting a bike for a few months but couldn't find something I really liked. well that sure has changed now. I guess love at first sight because I first saw it Tue night when I got a email about it and put down my $ on wed morning.
I'm not sure why I love this bike so much. when I saw it I thought of going to the state fair as a child seeing the flat trackers on the 1/2 mile. I also remember sitting on the floor in front of the TV watching Evel use a XR750 to convert bone to splinters. (red white and blue tribute ed?)
anyway I get the first of my dealers 3 I was told 2 to 4 weeks they don't know for sure. I don't know where that puts me out of 750

Red face

Berdo,

I didn't think to ask which (number) of the 750 was mine. As mentioned, I was the first 'real' customer at the dealer to put money down. However, the dealer already put an order in for about half a dozen using fake names in the database. When I ordered mine, the transferred one of the fake orders over to me.

I am under the impression (and have the expectation) that it will sell at MSRP. It's fine if they want to try and bump up the price on floor models ordered by the dealership, but if a customer puts money down, in advance (money that the MoCo is earning interest on), then I should expect to pay no more than MSRP + taxes and fees.

As for the delivery date, while early December would be nice, I am budgeting on late January - if it comes in early, guess the wife will just have to work double-shifts to help scratch the coin together in time

Cheers,
-Jack
