Drill a small hole through your baffles. Cheap, and will make it much much louder.

I put a 1/2" inch hole in each baffle, quite a bit more sound, bike decel popped for fifteen minutes, then ecm reprogramed, all is fine now.Got to be careful nowdays with the noise thing, bike runs so great it pisses my friends off,but they don't call it a girlie bike anymore,I can spank their 88,96,103 at will.

Rush sells black slip ons, we just did the tape job thing and black mufflers on a nigntster and it turned out pretty cool.

If you find an exhaust you like but it's only offered in chrome, you could always sand the chrome a little, clean it up with some metal prep to remove any oil on the metal, and then spray the pipes with some rattle can high temp paint like BBQ paint.

Not trying to be a smartass but I'd save my money and buy an exhaust I like. Most aftermarket exhausts are much louder than stock.

Slipons are the cheapest way to get a nice exhaust tone, I do not like the idea of drilling holes in you stock mufflers. A lot of people do it though

Don't let anyone con you into one of those crappy pretty looking exhaust systems, you have the right idea get a good set of slip ons and your bike will sound better and according to everything I have read your computer should be able to compinsate for them.
